Restoring ecosystems.
Strengthening livelihoods.
Transforming food and fibre systems.

The Challenge

Over 90% of global food and fibre production still depends on conventional agricultural systems that operate beyond planetary boundaries. These systems contribute to environmental degradation while leaving many farming communities vulnerable to climate, market, and social pressures.

Addressing these interconnected challenges requires action across the entire value chain. From producers to consumers, and from agriculture to processing, manufacturing, retail, and end-of-life management, the transition towards regenerative and circular food and fibre systems cannot be achieved in silos. Greater transparency, traceability, and collaboration are needed to reconnect producers and consumers, enable informed choices, and support the shift towards more sustainable production and consumption patterns.

Global innovation ecosystem for regenerative and circular landscapes

The Global Consortium for Regenerative & Circular Food and Fibre Landscapes connects farmers, communities, researchers, businesses, policymakers, and innovators to exchange knowledge, co-create solutions, and accelerate the transition towards regenerative and circular food and fibre systems.

Food and fibre systems connect ecosystems, communities, producers, and markets. Transforming these interconnected systems requires collaboration across sectors, disciplines, and regions.

Through living laboratories and pilot initiatives across different regions, the Consortium brings together local knowledge and innovation to develop, test, and scale solutions — from regenerative agriculture and biodiversity monitoring to circular fibre systems and digital traceability.

About the Consortium

The Global Consortium on Regenerative and Circular Food & Fibre Landscapes is an international partnership working to accelerate the transition towards regenerative agriculture and circular value chains. Originating from collaboration between partners in India and the Netherlands, the consortium brings together diverse stakeholders to develop, test, and scale solutions that improve livelihoods, restore ecosystems, strengthen climate resilience, and create more transparent and resilient food and fibre systems.

Through collaborative initiatives, thematic partnerships, and knowledge exchange, the consortium connects local action with global learning to drive systemic change across the food and fibre sectors.
